Course Overview

The VTCT Level 3 Award in Education and Training enables our students to begin teaching as employment and progress onto a broader teaching qualification.

Designed specifically for 19+ ages groups, this qualification is mapped to the relevant Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) NOS, and is accredited on the Regulated Qualifications Framework.

Before you begin the course, we’ll ensure that you have the required knowledge, understanding and skills to enrol and successfully achieve this qualification. There are no formal prerequisite qualifications that you must have prior to undertaking this qualification – just two years’ experience in your chosen subject.

This award is designed to equip a wide range of teachers/trainers and facilitators with the requisite skills and knowledge required to fulfil a teaching role. The course covers the following modules:

  • Preparation, planning and basic course design.
  • Teaching delivery skills and participation in microteaching sessions.
  • Evaluation skills and techniques.

This qualification provides a sound introduction to teaching/training and is suitable for both experienced practitioners who would like to secure a professionally recognised qualification as well as those new to teaching.

Learners can progress from the VTCT Level 3 Award in Education and Training directly into a teaching or facilitating role in the further education sector.
